Inspiration
Mikel Patrik’s artwork is clean, minimal and stylish. His unique professional background enables him to effectively realise his visual concepts in a refined and elegant manner. This personal artistic language has been developed over many years, enriched by his formal training in architecture and design.
Structure, form, geometric pattern and the creation of interior space are all vital, intertwining elements of his practice. The Geometric Abstraction of Mondrian, the Russian Constructivists, the Bauhaus movement, Minimalism and the artworks of Frank Stella all inform Patrik’s practice.
Patrik, with his passion and knowledge for both art and design, now occupies a unique perspective where he can seamlessly combine elements of both into his paintings.
Space
‘The most dramatic and successful spaces combine architecture, interiors, landscape and art.’
Patrik thinks of his artworks as spaces in their own right. They are worlds where intersecting lines continually overlap, patterns and motifs are repeated, and colors are applied until a form is built. Each painting develops its own internal logic. What unites his artworks is their consistently excellent attention to detail, and their authoritative visual prowess. Every single painting is a strong centerpiece, whatever the interior, and an intelligent and rewarding investment opportunity.
